Let’s Make Snowflakes!

It’s mid-January and there hasn’t been much snowfall this winter. Let’s Make Snowflakes asks us to consider whether there will be a time when there won’t be any more snow here in Hamilton. Appearing pervasively in our environment and local parks, however, are plastic bags. This installation upcycles these ugly eyesores, crocheting them into beautiful snowflakes that will appear along the Pipeline Trail, preserving the idea of snow in our changing climate and engaging with community members in crafting. Let’s Make Snowflakes is being coordinated in a series of workshops with Surprise!Hamilton and The Hamilton Dialogues, with installation to occur at Crown Point Parkette, 300 Roxborough on February 2 starting at 4 pm.
